FREQUENTLY ASKED QUEStions
+ WHO ARE THESE MEALS FOR?
Our meals are for anyone who wants to enjoy eating food that adds health to their body. We buy the groceries, cook the food, and deliver the delicious meals right to your home for you to enjoy. We strive to give you more time in your life to enjoy the things that you love in the evening, like playing with your children, hitting the water for some kayaking, going on a walk with your spouse, reading, watching a movie, digging in the garden, or hanging out with your animals, instead of slaving over the stove after a long day at work. Ultimately, we want to inspire you to LIVE better.
+ WHY EAT LOCAL?
Local food is fresher, more nutrient-dense, and it tastes way better than older food that has traveled hundreds of miles across the country or from Mexico. And of course, we are 100% for supporting our local farmers.
+ WHY EAT ORGANIC?
Organic foods are argued to be higher in nutritional value than conventional foods and they are not contaminated with pesticides, herbicides, synthetic ingredients, GMO’s (genetically modified organisms), fertilizers, growth hormones, and antibiotics that are harmful to our health.
+ DO YOU USE PASTURE-RAISED FOOD?
YES! We use pasture-raised animals as much as possible (which is almost always available). The farms that we get our chicken, eggs, pork, beef, and bison from all keep their animals on pastures year long. Which is better than the alternative and majority or animals who are caged up and force-fed corn and grains year long to bulk them up for slaughter faster. The animals we source for our meals live happy, free lives before they feed our tummies.
+ AND YOUR PRODUCE?
Our fruits and vegetables are local and organic as much as possible – so pretty much all of the time. ;)
+ WHAT ABOUT MACROS?
All of our meals have MACROS info listed on the website under each meal, as well as on the label of each meal received. We list fat, protein, carbs, and calories.
+ WHY WHOLE30 AND PALEO?
We have both benefitted greatly from changing our lifestyle in the realm of food. We have both suffered from adrenal fatigue, hormonal imbalance, anxiety/depression, aches and pains, hair loss, acne, skin issues, sleep problems, headaches, weight gain, acid reflux, constipation, and the list goes on. BUT since we have discovered what it means to live and eat well – in line with Whole30/Paleo lifestyle, our bodies have healed incredibly in numerous ways. And they continue to get better everyday. Dairy, grains, gluten, sugar, alcohol, caffeine, legumes, and soy (which both lifestyles encourage you to stay away from) can have a HUGE negative impact on our health, without us even realizing it. Taking a break from these foods and eliminating them from your diet is what we highly recommend for a period of time, and then re-introducing them one at a time to see how they affect you. This helps to wake the body up to what IS or ISN’T working you.
+ DOES EATING THIS WAY COST MORE?
Some may say so. BUT…We believe that by eating and living healthier lives, spending a little more money on food will absolutely save us in the long run. By taking care of ourselves now, we are preventing sickness and disease, doctor visits, prescription costs, and we are filling and fueling ourselves properly at each meal so that we don’t buy snacks and treats to fill the void in between meals everyday.
